▸ What is temporary email?

Temporary email, also called disposable or throwaway email, gives you an address for short-term mail. Use it to try a website, receive a one-off message or test a project, with less clutter in your everyday inbox.

▸ How it works

From a temporary email address to a readable message in a few simple steps. Keep the mailbox page handy while you complete your task.

Pick up your temporary address

Your address appears at the top of the page when you arrive. There is no account form to fill in before you can start using the mailbox.

Copy and use the address

Click “Copy email address” and paste it into a form that accepts temporary email. Double-check the address before requesting a message, and follow the receiving website’s rules.

Refresh and read your inbox

Return to Mailwisp and click “Refresh inbox” to check for messages. Select a subject to open the email, then use “Back to inbox” to return to the message list.

Start fresh when you need to

Click “Get a new address” for a different mailbox. This clears the current inbox, so read anything you need first and use the new address for your next request.

A useful habit: use your regular email for anything you plan to keep. Temporary mail is best suited to short-term tasks.

An inbox at a glance

Refresh when you choose

Check for new messages with a manual refresh. The inbox shows when a check is in progress and when it was last refreshed.

Read without leaving the page

Open a message to view its sender and body. Return to the inbox when you are finished, with the address still within reach.

A fresh address when needed

Switch mailboxes from the same page. Keep short-term tasks separate, and leave your everyday email for ongoing conversations.

Temporary email FAQ

Questions about disposable addresses, receiving messages and choosing the right mailbox for the job.

Q: What is a temporary email address?

A: A temporary email address is used for short-term incoming mail rather than ongoing correspondence. You may also see it called disposable email, throwaway email or temp mail. It can be useful when you need an address for a brief task and do not want to share your everyday inbox.

Q: How is disposable email different from regular email?

A: A regular mailbox is an address you manage for long-term access, conversations and account recovery. Disposable email is meant for passing needs. It should not become the only way to access a service you want to keep using.

Q: Do I need to register to use Mailwisp?

A: No. The mailbox interface provides an address when you open the page. Copy it, check the inbox and read messages without going through a registration form.

Q: What can I use a temporary mailbox for?

A: Common uses include exploring a new tool, receiving a one-off notification and checking email layouts during development. Use an address only where the service permits disposable email, and use a regular mailbox if you will need continued access.

Q: Can I use it for verification emails?

A: Some websites accept temporary addresses for email verification; others block them. Acceptance depends on the sending service. For any account you value or expect to use later, choose your regular email so you can receive future messages and recover access.

Q: Why has my email not arrived?

A: Check that you entered the current address correctly, allow time for the sender to process the request, then refresh your inbox. The sender may restrict temporary addresses. If you switched mailboxes after requesting the email, you are now looking at a different address.

Q: What happens when I get a new address?

A: Mailwisp replaces the address and clears the current inbox. Read the messages you need before switching. If you requested an email using the old address, request it again using the new one where appropriate.

Q: Can I send emails from this mailbox?

A: The current interface is for incoming mail. It lets you copy an address, check the inbox and read messages; it does not include a compose or send function.

Q: Should I use temporary email for sensitive information?

A: No. Keep banking, payments, personal documents, passwords and important accounts in a regular mailbox you control. A temporary address is not a substitute for a private, long-term email account, and the interface alone does not establish privacy or security guarantees.
